Eating local can be done year-round but in the summer it's that much easier, especially if you live in Ottawa.
The obvious choices for fresh, local fruit and vegetables in Ottawa are the Byward Market, and Parkdale Market, but there are many other options.
The Ottawa Farmers' Market is located in parking lot 4 of Lansdowne Park and brings together local producers of fruit, vegetables, meat and ever arts and crafts! The Market is seasonal and is open every Sunday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm until the end of October. The market has limited hours on some Thursday's and Saturday's throughout the season (pls check their website for specific times).
There are so many great choices in Ottawa - if you need more info, the City of Ottawa has a list of local Farmer's Markets.
Wherever you are located, there are some great markets that support your locally grown fruit and vegetables.
Have a great day
